Garnier Fructis #ColorShield Review
Last week I was excited to receive a package from Influenster. I received these hair care products complimentary for testing purposes from influenster and could not wait to give them a try. I just decided to color my hair a lighter shade of blonde for the summer. Perfect timing! The big problem with going blonder is the color fades, goes brassy and doesn't last as long as darker shades. The re-growth shows so quickly. My natural color had darkened over the years and of course there is all that grey hair, I have to deal with now. -Yuck, I hate getting older.
So I colored my hair about two weeks ago and have been using Garnier Fructis Color Shield Complete Defense Fortifying Shampoo and Conditioner.
The results......... My hair is soft, manageable, and the color does not seem to be washing out as fast. I didn't see a whole lot of difference until I used the Garnier Fructis Color Shield Complete Defense Blonde Refresher. Then I noticed something very nice. My color seemed to truly be "refreshed" I had not noticed but my hair, I guess had gradually changed since originally coloring it. Now, after using the Blonde Refresher it looked revitalized and so darn soft. It was like using the special conditioner that comes with your hair color. You know when your hair is freshly colored and you use the deep conditioner. Your hair feels amazing-"right?" The roots were still sneaking in (my hair grows very fast) but the rest of my hair looks more like the shade of blonde it was when I first colored it. The brassiness was gone. It was bright and beautiful again.
I normally have to color my hair about every three weeks or so, especially when it is so light blonde. But I think this round I will be able to stretch it out a bit. Since I can use the Garnier Fructis Blonde Refresher bi-weekly and I did not leave it in for the full length of time. (max 10 mins) I think I will use it again tomorrow and leave it in for the full 10 minutes. Maybe that way the roots that a just starting to show a little darker will brighten up too. Fingers crossed.
All in all I am very happy with my Garnier Fructis ColorShield products. If you color your hair and are frustrated on how quickly your color turns brassy or fades then your might want to give these products a try.
Thank you to Influenster and GarnierCan for allowing me the opportunity to try these products. They have my ColorShield of approval.

Easy rainbow nails
I'm no nail artist but I do still try to do a design on my nails every once in awhile!
I recently had graduation and had fake nails on so haven't been putting much on my nails since those came off. Unfortunately most of the length on my nails broke off with the fake nails & i was left with short nails again. As a former nail bitter who just kicked the habit a few years back I'm still okay with short nails. While I'm waiting for my nails to grow again I haven't had many options for design for my nails. But yesterday I came across this cute little design & decided to give it a try, I can always clean it off if it's terrible.
What You Need:
Base Coat
White Nail Polish
Blue Nail Polish
Yellow Nail Polish
Red Nail Polish
Top coat
Dotting tools
Nail Polish remover
I Used:
Pro-FX Fiberized Ridge Filler as well as their Quick dry high gloss top coat ( From Walmart)
Julep Hope (white)
Julep Jeanne (blue)
Julep Abbie ( Yellow)
Julep Jackie (red) ( You can find/sign up for Julep HERE)
I also used 2 dotting tools ( set of 5) That I got off ebay Here is the same set
Step #1: Cover each of your nails with a base coat & let dry.
Step #2: Take the largest dotting tool ( in my set its on the green one) & dip it in your white nail polish and make a cloud design on the tip of your nails. ( I like to make a spot of nail polish on a scrap piece of paper.) After making a cloud on each nail clean off your dotting tool with nail polish remover.
Step #3: Make a dot of blue nail polish on your paper and grab a smaller dotting tool ( in my set I used the white one) And make A blue arch coming out of the cloud and off the side of your nail. Clean off your dotting tool after you complete the blue arches.
Step #4: Using the same dotting tool used for the blue arches repeat with the yellow & clean the tool again.
Step #5: Repeat step 3 with red & let dry
Step #6: After nails are dry cover with top coat ( as you can see in the previous picture I made a bit of a mess around my nail which i cleaned up with a q-tip & nail polish remover)
