My Favorite Coffee Machine THE Tassimo

Who ever knew that a coffee machine could be so intelligent, so revolutionary? I always thought that a coffee machine was just a coffee machine. That all they could do was whatever you spent about 5 minutes setting it up to do. In our house there was always coffee sitting left in the pot from the morning before because no one had drank the last cup or two of the remaining coffee. Sure I could just make less coffee, and that might not be a problem, but I could never get the right balance for coffee grounds and water.

But then, I got my Tassimo home brewing system. Finally there came an end to left over coffee staining the coffee pot, no more spilled coffee grounds while attempting the perfect measure. I was so excited to get my brand spanking new Tassimo out of it's box and let it take over the spot where my lame old coffee maker once sat. My mom was just as excited as I was and was standing beside me saying, can you make me a coffee!? I want to try it too! So right away we got the Tassimo out of its box and began reading through the instructions. At first we thought it would take us a week or two just to learn how to use it with it being so "high-tech" compared to our old coffee maker. One of the first things we did was follow the cleaning procedure, it was as simple as placing the special cleaning disc in the holder, watching it clean, and pouring out the HOT water when the cup was full.

As we were cleaning it we stood there wondering what we wanted to make first, and reading what other flavors were available. It is amazing how the machine knows what to do with just the little barcode. Including cleaning! We had a package of Starbucks coffee, a pack of hot chocolate and a pack of cappuccino. Once we were finished the cleaning and set-up process we set the tassimo up in its new spot on the counter. With reading through the owner manual and looking over the box we were amazed at just how much this machine could do. Not only does it make coffee, but tea,and hot chocolate? So far my favorite coffee machine ever, I had never had a coffee machine that could do so much!

My mom had chose to have a Starbucks coffee so we grabbed a cup, and grabbed the T-Disc. For those of you who don't know what a T-disc is, it's like your coffee grounds and your filter put together in one compact package. We inserted the t-disc and carefully read every single step to make sure we weren't going to screw it up. Much to our surprise it was extremely simple! In much less than 5 minutes she had a nice big cup of Starbucks coffee. Neither of us have ever been to Starbucks and never understood what the big attraction was. So we both gave the freshly brewed coffee a sample. Some how I got chosen to take the first sip. I am not a coffee drinker so I didn't know just what to expect. I didn't like the Starbucks coffee and I figured my mom would since she drinks coffee pretty much every day. She wasn't a huge fan of the Starbucks either.

Later that night we just had to try the Tassimo again! So she decided to give the cappuccino a try, and I decided on the hot chocolate. Since the cappuccino involved using two different T-Discs we decided to make that one first. It was really simple all you had to do was insert the one T-disc, and then once that had finished brewing open up the top take that T-disc out and put the next one in. We were both in shock over how nicely and how professional this machine had made this cappuccino. Deciding to have some fun with it we decided to grab some chocolate shavings and sprinkled them on top. As my mom walked around the kitchen sipping her cappuccino I decided to make my hot chocolate. I wasn't quite sure just how this was going to work since it looked like a really thick syrup. So In the T-disc went and I pressed the button and watched as it brewed me a cup of hot chocolate. As it was brewing I remembered we had a few left over marshmallows from making rice krispies so I decided to grab two of them to add to my hot chocolate when it was done brewing. It was so delicious, i absolutely love the hot chocolate that the Tassimo "creates".

Since then we have bought the T-discs for:

Nabob Coffee
Maxwell House Coffee
Skinny Latte
Latte
and of course, MORE hot chocolate.
I can't wait to try out all the other T-Discs we have yet to try, like the Chai Tea Latte, sounds delicious right?

Maybe I can even figure out a way to create a cafe mocha with it, or maybe Tassimo will soon come out with a T-disc for that too!

They even have a recipe section on their site to make other drinks, even cold drinks and dessert! Click Here to check out the recipes
